This painting was started on location on Airlie Road, just north of Corvallis, Oregon.  I was perched precariously on the side of the road, with trucks whipping by me.  I had parked in someone's driveway a couple of hundred yards away and hauled my painting things down the road to a point where I could see the distant hills, hay bales and trees in just the right perspective.
