It had rained a lot.  I spent a lot of time sketching in my car, and thinking about what I wanted to do in this painting.  The scene excited me, the weather did not.  The next day the weather cooperated and I sat next to the boat launch, as the fishers put in their boats, pulled out their boats and looked at my work.  I enjoyed the day.
